Beta-Testers: we welcome you to test a newer version of our Readability Scoring System v4-beta.
We've made several improvements:
- Updated and revised existing formulas to ensure accuracy;
- Added two new formulas: the Fry Sight Readability Formula, and the original Linsear Write Readability Formula;
- Improved word usage analysis using Lexical Density/Lexical Diversity;
- Updated reading level scales;
- Added a lightweight readability editor called the Robert Gunning Editor to identify wordiness and complexity.
- Batch processing: score as many texts using any number of formulas at one time.
- Auto formula selection with a click of a checkbox;
- Use any combo of formulas and still receive an average grade level of all results;
- Better word inflections matching and processing;
- Added a Synonym Finder to find more concise words;
- Added Cognitive Reading Load tool to measure the mental effort needed to read your words, sentences, and the whole text.
- Real-time readability scoring as you work on your text.
- Shortcut right-click menu to score text from any website (TBD)
- Work in plain text or rich text to retain formatting.
- No limit on word count.
